Purpose

Manage essential technical information which is required for the Footwear Development process. Create an effective transition of footwear designs from prototyping into production under the guidance of your line manager and in collaboration with key relationships, key tier 1 supply partners and when applicable Sourcing teams.

Key Accountabilities

·  Create and/or organize with guidance and in direct interaction with tier 1 supply partners the constructions of 2D/3D models and patterns to be used for the technical product description.
·  Support the Product Team by analyzing designs for manufacturability, production and material properties, offering economic and efficient solutions to achieve cost targets.
·  Conduct tear down meetings (i.e. with Product testing, Development) to ensure that each shoe is engineered and constructed to meet adidas quality standards.
·  Offer technical solutions to the Product Team taking into consideration functional requirements of products, adidas quality standards, target costs and manufacturing constraints.
·  Increase the speed and efficiency  of processes by eliminating non value adding steps and try to execute “Right the First Time”
·  Document the lifecycle stages of CAD data for uppers and toolings throughout the development process.
·  Actively increase your knowledge regarding latest technological trends in CAD systems and processes and Footwear manufacturing.
·  Increase knowledge on all aspects of FW Development, Process, Calendar management, Costing, Materials and Quality.
·  Gain Project Management skills and experience by assuming responsibility for Development projects under guidance of Line Manager.

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience

·  Knowledge about mold making and shoe making process preferred
·  Fluent in English; German an advantage
·  MS Office skills

Qualifications

·  University degree or comparable education as a technical drafter, mould maker,  model maker or Pattern engineer
·  CAD work experience. Rhino preferred, other 2D-3D CAD applications, Crispin for Pattern engineering.
·  At least of 1 year related work experience preferred
