Purpose:

Engineer upper/bottom pattern projects that are used to develop, confirm and commercialize new products in the most cost effective manner possible, while maintaining the intent of the design and requested features. Provide development or design personnel production quality lasted shoes to be utilized during various concept and prototype review sessions. Maintain and update the Crispin pattern systems to include the hardware, software and the maintenance of component systems already in-house that include the pattern engineer systems, CSC and computer controlled cutters.

Key Responsibilities:

· Engineer upper shell patterns that effectively communicate the intent of the design in the most cost effective manner possible, while complying with the manufacturing standards of each source country.
· Physical quality of the lasted shoes, fit on the last and intent of the design.
· Technical review of the project with the designer and the project manager.
· Transfer of CAD pattern files to appropriate storage and/or source country location.
· Complete all projects within the established timelines.
· Create shells, split part pieces from shell with all markers and correct lap allowances ready for cutting.
· Create a model envelope with detailed picture for the stitching sequence of the design.
· Operate the Zund cutter to produce the required multiple pattern pieces.
· Engineer all patterns to get the required profit margins.
· Prepare confirmed pattern files for electronic transfer to Far East production source country.

Key Relationships:

· Design, Development, Pattern Engineers, 3D CAD/Digital Creation Engineers, Marketing and Materials Department. Vendors (domestically and overseas), on machinery, materials and other suppliers.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

· Ability to manage multiple projects.
· Ability to communicate effectively.
· Ability to travel both foreign and domestically.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must have footwear engineering experience
· 5 years of project management and/or direct management experience.
· Experience of 3D CAD/Digital creation an advantage.
