Working for a global multi-million euro company, you will not be considered a junior member of the team. The Finance team are absolutely dependent on student placement roles. Looking for Finance/Business students, this opportunity gives cross-functional exposure across the full hierarchy of the business while working in an enjoyable, sociable and professional department.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance and assistance with key activities in the month end cycle to ensure:

· Provide commentary on variances between actual costs and forecast.
· Produce month end summary of sales and margin reported to adidas Group via GRAPE system.
· Commercial Club discounts reported correctly in Microstrategy and SAP systems.
· Key issues and changes are documented and communicated to management both locally and internationally.

Budget process

· Assist in the completion of the annual budget process.
· Review budgets with cost centre managers and challenge proposed costs.
· Ensure all necessary input from cost centre managers is received and approved in accordance with deadlines.
· Provide support to the wider Controlling team to ensure that the Budget process runs smoothly and is completed in a timely manner.

Trade Investment

· Assist in the completion of the trade investment modeller for all North Europe countries to monitor year on year progression of discounts granted to all wholesale customers.

Cost Control

· For assigned Cost Centres ensure expenses are managed effectively.
· Ensure cost centre managers take ‘ownership’ of their budgets, and that accurate reports are issued on a timely basis.
· Ensure all expected deviations from budget are approved and reflected in the monthly rolling forecast.
· Co-ordinate meetings with cost centre managers and report significant issues to the relevant Controller. Produce an executive summary to highlight key changes to cost centres.
· Produce discretionary spend analysis.

Company profitability:

· Assist the FP&A team in producing the annual customer profitability analysis.
· Identify opportunities within the business, to maximise profitability, implement cost savings and increase customer satisfaction.

Systems/process development:

· Develop reporting skills on platforms such as SAP, Microstrategy, Office based applications.
· Continual update and review to improve and simplify all non-IT business processes

Key Relationships:

· All Managers throughout North Europe Business, Sales Planning, FSSC, Western Europe Controlling

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

· Undergraduate, preferably studying for a business or accountancy degree and industry experience.

IT skills:

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
