Job description

Strategic Lead required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 4 month contract, paying £375 a day, inside IR35, hybrid working.

Job Description:

A formal job description is being developed to recruit to an Assistant Director - Strategy and Community Engagement, which when finalised will be recruited to through recruitment policy (open competition advertised internal and externally).

This will take some time and whilst the post is being developed there is a requirement for an interim post to work with the SMT to support delivery of the organisation objective.

This post is interim post and the expectation is that recruitment will take place for a permanent post based on the job description in progress with a broader remit in the next 6 months.

The successful applicant, if so wishes, will be able to apply as part of an open recruitment process but carrying out the interim post is no guarantee of successful application.

The specific brief is:

·  To review and implement strategic projects

·  Drive the development of Strategy, implementing where appropriate.

·  Working collaboratively with Head of Programmes and Portfolio ensure that response and named activities are fit for purpose to deliver the organisation priorities.

·  Oversee and coordinate ongoing strategic activities to enable growth and diversification.

This post will require working collaboratively across functions, not always with direct line management of teams.

Role Details:

·  Hybrid working pattern with occasional travel. Travel costs are claimable in line with Travel & Expenses policy.

Skills and Experience:

·  Experience of developing and building strategy

·  Line management of hybrid teams in a range of geographical locations

·  Experience of matrix and collaborative working

·  Be highly articulate and credible, consistently influencing and delivering inspiring, engaging, and meaningful information regarding future direction.

·  Work collaboratively with your senior team collectively and individually, accepting and owning accountability for the decisions made and offering assistance where required, even where this falls outside of your remit.

·  Proactively create, leading by example, a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment.

·  Foster strong professional relationships with your peers, respecting their knowledge and view-points whilst critically analysing outcomes to ensure that the service to donors is paramount in decision making.

·  Demonstrate strong leadership and influence a robust culture of delivery.

·  Able to work collaboratively in a matrix style to deliver results.

·  Proven experience in developing and delivering strategy.

·  Expert skills in working collaboratively within a senior team and cross functional teams where there a range of conflicting priorities and objectives.
