QSHE Manager (Utility sites)
Utilities (gas)
Home-based but will require travel to various sites where necessary
6 months+ (predicted until April 2026)
£500 per day

In short: QSHE required to join a large Gas utility company in their Cyber and Operational Technology (OT) team.

Cyber is a nice-to-have but not essential.

Essential: Industrial site experience akin to gas, electricity, oil, petrochem, manufacturing, pharmaceutical.

An opportunity has arisen for a HSE & Quality Manager to join our Security Strategy team. The successful candidate will proactively lead and monitor all aspects of HSE and QA plans and systems regarding the delivery of a number of projects within the Cyber Security programme by providing expert guidance and assistance to all levels of management and employees within the delivery and also with third party suppliers contract, ensuring high levels performance through innovative HESQ initiatives.

Role Responsibility

Health and Safety

·  Promote the company wide health and safety strategy to develop a positive safety culture.

·  Monitor legislative developments and industry initiatives and requirements, measure the company's current procedures and performance and develop appropriate interventions to close out identified gaps.

·  Lead the accident/incident review process including delivery and assessment of remedial and long term corrective action identified for and of the delivery teams and contracts with suppliers.

·  Lead & participate in HAZOP & LOPA studies associated with varying projects within the cyber programme.

·  Develop an audit schedule which adheres to the minimum contract/company standards required.

·  Collate, produce, publish and monitor accident/incident statistics and reports within the Incident Management System at agreed intervals.

Environment

·  Promote and lead a companywide environmental initiative and develop a positive culture of improving the environment.

·  Ensure audits are planned and Environmental best practice/monitoring is undertaken, recorded and reported as required, ensuring continual improvement across our assets.

·  Report on current emissions data to relevant members within the company and external where appropriate.

·  Provide support to the cyber project team to ensure scopes align with current environmental impact requirements.

Quality Assurance

·  Review and facilitate changes to Safety Case documentation & reporting, including COMAH site safety reports.

·  Develop, implement and maintain a Quality Assurance system in line with the Project Construction team QA systems and documentation.

·  Undertake internal Quality Assurance audits, producing a summary of findings, corrective, preventive, improvements and closure.

·  Review all complaints, issues and produce a summary of findings, corrective action and ongoing monitoring. Relay to appropriate staff to resolve where appropriate.

·  Ensure all company systems are compatible with legislative, industry and client requirements.

Training (HSE & QA)

·  Liaise with all levels of staff and management to ensure that all training requirements are identified, undertaken and recorded.

General

·  Support the Operations team by attending client meeting or safety forums.

·  Host client HSEQ audits and ensure all areas for improvement are identified and managed.

·  Be the key contact for all HSE regulatory matters concerning the contract with the suppliers.

The Ideal Candidate

·  Degree qualified or demonstrable knowledge of HSE and QA Systems and legal / industry requirements.

·  Multiple projects' experience at a comparable level (at least middle management level).

·  NEBOSH General Certification/Diploma.

·  HAZOP Leadership & Management Training

·  LOPA Training

·  Certified Auditor/Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, ISO 14001).

·  Excellent oral, written and presentation skills are essential.

·  Able to demonstrate an impartial approach and excellent communication to all members and levels of staff from engineering to stakeholder.

·  Proven ability to liaise with all services and systems users with a view to providing positive amendments as part of a continuous improvement philosophy.
