My client is a well-established financial institution based in Leeds with over 10 offices in and around West Yorkshire. They are looking for someone who can join their underwriting team. This is a great opportunity to work in the financial services sector and make a real difference. Good working knowledge of credit reporting, financial services and loan processing is ideal with a knowledge of the sector very useful.

Main Purpose of Job

Assess affordable loans in a timely and professional manner. Our aim is to offer exceptional customer service, support and guidance for our members.

Key Accountabilities

·  Working in a team environment to meet and exceed defined business objectives and service levels.

·  Detailed assessment of loan applications on an affordability basis

·  Advise members on procedures for loan applications

·  Check thoroughly information provided by members, once application received and resolve any queries before consideration

·  Request credit checks on members

·  Issuing of loan agreements and appropriate paperwork

·  Member care and maintenance demonstrating a high level of customer service, accuracy and attention to detail

·  Excellent telephone skills dealing with general loan enquiries

·  Ability to use automated systems

·  Update spread sheets to stated deadlines

·  Follow up pending loan applications

·  Deal with external and internal post

·  Through involvement in special projects make a real contribution to the success of the company

·  Knowledge of CCA regulation

·  Ability to design, develop technical procedures and implement new ideas

·  Ability to take ownership of personal workload and use initiative to maintain service levels.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

·  GCSE level standards of education

·  Well-developed financial skills

·  Well-developed IT skills including Excel and word

·  Knowledge of credit score cards

·  Good interpersonal skills
