Adecco are currently recruiting for a CLIENT AFFAIRS OFFICER to work for a Local Authority in WANDSWORTH.
CLIENT AFFAIRS OFFICER
WANDSWORTH
FULL TIME - 36 HOURS PER WEEK
TEMPORARY ROLE - 3 MONTHS MINIMUM -EXTENSION LIKELY
Job Purpose
This post is to be part of a client financial affairs team who deal with financial matters for vulnerable people and provide specialist statutory social care services
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
* To make Deputyship applications to the Court of Protection and Appointeeship applications to the Department of Works and Pensions and adhering to instructions issued by the court and fulfilling responsibilities of an appointee with supervision for more complex cases
* To investigate clients' confidential financial matters and manage their funds and bank accounts to maximise their income and to identify any potential financial abuse, making appropriate safeguarding adult referrals and assist with safeguarding investigations as required, with supervision for more complex cases.
* To ensure that the services for both Councils are dealt with on an equitable basis to deliver the standards required for each, as agreed annually by the Executives of both Councils.
* To advise and support managers on relevant matters affecting the service
* To contribute as required to performance review and improvement measures on an ongoing basis, helping to ensure that a customer focus is embedded within the function and innovative and creative solutions are evaluated to securing the highest quality and value for money function.
* To contribute as required to change programmes within the service
* To work as required in ways that develop good working relations and collaborative arrangements with internal and external stakeholders.
* To carry out the duties required at Scale 5, including complex cases, with minimal supervision.
* To assist in making funeral arrangements and in disposal of all property in respect of borough residents who die without relatives or agents to undertake such duties.
* To provide effective Protection of Property services (i.e. to secure client's property and organise accommodation for animals in the event of emergency) and similar functions required under the National Assistance Act 1948.
