Our client is one of the world's largest Insurance Groups. On behalf of this organisation, Adecco are looking for an Accounting Technician for a temporary assignment until 31/03/2020, with possibility for extension and permanent opportunities for the right candidate. This role is based in Whiteley, Fareham.
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of pay: £27,300
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Purpose of the Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounting Technician to join the Finance Operations Team. You will be supporting the team with a range of finance-based activities including completing balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing and investigating differences.
What you'll be doing:
· Completing balance sheet reconciliations between policy systems and SAP (general ledger)
· Ensure any differences are reviewed and investigated whether raising a defect on the source system or completing journals to adjust the accounts
· Liaising with managerial staff, colleagues and clients
· Monitoring financial transactions
· Following procedures to ensure adherence to the company's risk, health and safety and compliance policies
The Candidate:
In order to be successful in this role you will have possessed all or some of the below criteria:
· Demonstrate experience of completing balance sheet reconciliations
· Previous experience in financial services would be desirable
· Excellent IT skills in Microsoft packages, including Excel
· Experience of working in a financial accounting team
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with deadlines
· Knowledge of General Ledger software such as SAP
· Financial qualification such as AAT would be preferred but not essential
· Strong verbal and excellent written communication skills
· Effective team player who is dynamic and has ability to work in a fast-paced environment
