£22,000 pro rata

ASAP start (will honour notice periods for the right candidates)

Set hours are 4.00pm to 10.30pm Monday to Friday during school opening time and flexible hours during non-school hours

Saturday/Sunday - varied hours dependant on usage of the academy (events)

On behalf of my client, (a performing arts academy) I am currently looking to recruit two Caretakers to work approx. 40hrs/week on a job share basis to cover in times of absence.

Personal Requirements

A hard-working, honest, dependable, self-motivated person to act as school caretaker to encompass a number of duties inclusive of:

Security

·  Opening and locking up of school building and gates at the end of each day, times being dependant on hirers and this will be notified by our commercial lettings department

·  Monitoring and administering CCTV system

·  Disarming and alarming of school intruder and fire alarm systems

·  Responding to, and resetting of, the school alarm, liaising with alarm company as applicable

·  Checking and securing the school premises subsequent to out of hours intruder alarm activation

·  Register as main key holder and be the first point of contact in an emergency call-out situation

·  Overall security of the school premises including the locking of all windows, doors and gates

·  Providing access to any contractor who may be working on site, in school holidays or weekends

·  In exceptional circumstances you may be called out at unsociable hours or at weekends to deal with security problems or make emergency repairs

Cleaning

We have contract cleaning three times a week, so daily duties will be simply maintaining standards and may include the following:

·  Mopping floor

·  Vacuuming carpeted areas

·  Wiping down

·  Spot cleaning of spillages

·  Emptying and cleaning of bins

·  Cleaning of toilets and replenishing paper towels, toilet rolls and other disposables

·  Cleaning of internal and external windows

·  Sweeping and washing down area outside of the school building

·  General tidying up

General

·  Ensuring external rubbish is stored appropriately

·  Carrying out minor repairs to property, fixtures, fittings and equipment

·  Communicating with utility companies with meter readings, problems etc

·  Overseeing contractors to site for repairs, maintenance

·  General porterage duties and moving of furniture

·  Preparing rooms for commercial lettings as required

·  Preparation of school for functions and events

·  Changing light bulbs

·  Ensure a clear passage is maintained on fire escape routes

·  Weekly test of fire alarms

·  Carry out periodic high-level cleaning as applicable

·  Report any defects to the building, furniture and fittings

·  Disinfect drains and dustbins regularly

·  Make safe any hazards and ensure that the area is cordoned off

·  Keep paths, entrances free of ice and snow to ensure safety of children, staff and visitors

·  Decorating when deemed necessary

·  Allowing access to commercial hirers during non-school hours

Management

·  Be responsible for monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies and equipment

·  Report back on regularly on any issues

·  Ensure all lighting, heating and cooling systems are working effectively

·  Be aware of the location of all stopcocks, gas and electricity meters

·  Any other work requested by and deemed appropriate by your Manager

·  Meet hirers and cater for their needs re set up and equipment etc
