About the Company

Action Dry are a damage-mitigation company who deal with flood and fire restoration. We have introduced several industry-changing innovations, which are presently driving an expansion of the business. We generally work within a 100-mile radius of our base but regularly deliver services nationally.

About the Role

The role involves attending properties damaged by flooding, fire, biohazards or which were the scene of trauma. The technician will scope the site and conduct relevant tests, construct a plan for remediation, estimate the price of works, set up and monitor the recovery process and write detailed, technical reports on the works conducted and the state of the property.

The work will involve liaising with customers, loss adjustors and insurers. It may involve management of large sites and the coordination of large numbers of workers.

The standard working hours will be 09.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday, with regular need to begin earlier and finish later than those hours. An 'on-call’ rota means that the technician may have to sometimes work on weekends, at night or on bank holidays. From time to time, the technician will be required to make deliveries, complete duties in the warehouse including the maintenance of the warehouse and of equipment. This is not an absolute list of duties; business requirements may necessitate the completion of other tasks.

Relevant training will be provided.

About the Technician

The technician will have:

- A full category 'B’ or equivalent driving license, with the ability to drive manual vehicles.

- English and Maths at Grade 'C’ or higher at GCSE or equivalent.

- A preparedness to, as business needs require, work outside of the standard 09.00 to 17.00 hours and to work across the UK, which may sometimes involve spending (usually short) periods away from home.

- The capability to spend prolonged periods lifting, moving and operating heavy equipment.

The technician will ideally have:

- Experience working in the construction sector or another relevant profession. Professional Qualifications and evidence of training are particularly noted.

- A 'C1+E’ driving licence or equivalent.

- Demonstrable or quantifiable IT experience. Experience with Apple and Adobe software is particularly noted.

- Demonstrable experience of capacity to write technical reports.

- Demonstrable experience of capacity to manage other people.

About the Benefits

- Once trained, the annual remuneration package is around £30,000. Earnings are not capped and with enhanced out-of-hours rates and commissions, can be significantly higher.

- 28 days of holiday, including bank holidays is offered (a proportion of bank holidays will be spent 'on call’).
