Actemium ICP Business Unit is working on designing and delivering utility connections to the E-mobility and Industrial sectors, specifically electrical connections. We provide LV and 11kv Connection to the grid for our customers across UK, who are looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer. To be part of the HV Engineering  design team in delivering commercially and technically
accurate designs in a timely manner.

Job Duties:

• Produce:

• a project specific DNO/ IDNO/ Private network electrical design
• Bill of quantities of equipment in line with relevant IEC, DNO, IDNO, and client specifications
• cable calculations
• Technical reports to accompany the design submissions detailing the specifics of the proposed connection arrangement
• Balancing and harmonics studies
• Earthing layouts
• AC and DC schematic drawings, cable block diagrams, cable and termination schedules
• High-level specifications for control, protection, and SCADA systems
• Detailed specifications for high voltage equipment including transformers, switchboards, circuit breakers, disconnectors, current and voltage transformers
• Detailed specifications for ancillary plant and equipment associated with high voltage substations including auxiliary transformers, battery systems, LVAC boards, and multicore cables.
• Review client specifications
• Design HV substation layouts and elevations
• Assess client’s HV network – site visits will sometime be required
• Assess DNO EV charging capacity maps to develop future EV infrastructure
• DNO and IDNO POC and G99 applications
• Self- Determination POC

Desired profile

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering(Desirable)
• IEng Member of The IET
• Several years HV Substation design to NERS requirements
• Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
• Experience in protection and grading studies
• Working knowledge of British Standards and G81’s
• Working knowledge of office software – MS word, excel, PowerPoint, project
• In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD and Amtech
• Advantageous: working knowledge of design software: Revit, CDEGS etc
