ACTEMIUM, BIRMINGHAM are looking to recruit an experienced JIB Electrical Qualifying Supervisor (NICEIC) on a permanent basis to enhance our existing team and underpin our strategy for growth.

We are looking for an individual that will be responsible for the inspection of our electrical installations carried out by the business to ensure full compliance with the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 and that of the NICEIC requirements and standards. Review the completed the Minor Works, Installation Certificates and Condition Reports on completion of any electrical installations or alterations for issue to client within a structured management process, working under the guidance and direction of our Project Managers and/or Sector Managers.

 Responsibilities include (not exhaustive):

• Ensuring results of the verification process are accurately recorded on the appropriate certificates or inspection report.
• Undertaking supervisory duties of employed persons to ensure they are competent and adequately supervised
• Having adequate knowledge, experience and understanding of the design, construction, maintenance, verification and/or inspection and testing procedures for electrical work and of applicable Building Regulations and Standards where relevant
• Liaise with external bodies – (such as NICEIC representatives or other registration bodies) .
• Ensure that the business complies with all aspects of NICEIC accreditation
• Provide any technical support as required and have contact with customers across the contract portfolio in relation to our NICEIC accreditation.
• Advise engineers and the management team on any technical / electrical matters; typically NICEIC requirements on projects, planned maintenance and reactive jobs.
• Inspect Electrical installations carried out by the business to ensure full compliance with the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 and that of the NICEIC requirements and standards.
• Inspect Electrical certification issued by engineers within the business and that of other sub-contractors to ensure full compliance with NICEIC requirements and standards
• Provide technical support and assistance in all aspects of Electrical Work
• Carry out post audits of other engineers electrical work, both directs and subcontractor partners as required
• Actively monitor compliance in relation to engineers electrical test equipment
• Carry out your duties and responsibilities as appointed person as appointed person for the Company NICEIC accreditation.
• Submit detailed written reports on compliance status and actions required and ensure any changes in legislation are relayed to senior management.  

Desired profile

The right individual would have the following key attributes:

• IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition, BS 7671: 2018 (Electrical Regulations)
• Electrical Inspection and Testing C&G 2391-52 or equivalent
• 5 Years minimum working as an approved electrician/qualifying supervisor
• Must have exceptional technical skill, ability and experience beyond that expected of an Approved Electrician/Qualifying Supervisor.
• Full British driving license
• Design and drawing package familiarity to assist with the design and validation process of our installations
• Relationship management and interpersonal skills.
• Communication and influencing skills.
• Problem solving and decision making.
• PC Literate with Microsoft office software packages.
• Extensive experience in both Commercial and Industrial environments
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Apprentice trained or above
• 5 years minimum experience supervising electrical installations of such complexity and dimension as to require wide technical experience and organizational ability.
• Must have knowledge of the most economical and effective layout of electrical installations
• The ability to achieve a high level of productivity in the tasks to be completed and personnel under your supervision

The MAIN sector we currently operate within is Automotive (LV Contracting & Passive Network Infrastructure).
Based from our Elmdon, Birmingham location you will be required to work at a number of client locations across the UK. Therefore, the ideal candidate will need to be flexible in terms of travel and prepared for overnight stays.
