The hotel features 190 rooms and apartments, a fully equipped conference centre, restaurant and bar.  Offering impeccable service and a welcoming atmosphere, Batman’s Hill on Collins is the ideal venue for guests visiting the city for leisure or work.

We are looking for a skilled Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie to take the lead in our kitchen operations, supporting our Head Chef to create exceptional guest experiences in our restaurant and conference and event spaces. You will have proven experience in a hotel environment, full working rights in Australia, and the ability to lead and mentor a small team. Job Description

·  Running the shift with hands-on cooking and food preparation intrinsic to the role
·  Assist Head Chef with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service
·  Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control for all food and beverage outlets
·  Assist with the implementation and maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchens
·  Be a leader for the team by setting a positive example and supporting continuous learning and collaborative relationships
·  Supervision of kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef. Delegate duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met
·  Subject to experience, above award rate may be offered

Qualifications

·  Must have  full Australian working rights and availability to work 38 hours per week on a rotating roster Monday to Sunday, with an initial focus on dinner service
·  Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the hotel industry
·  Relevant Trade Qualification and Food Safety Supervisor certificate
·  Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques
·  Ability to work independently, as well as part of a small team
·  Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
·  Commitment to hygiene, safety standards, and food handling regulations
