Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

·  Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
·  Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
·  Responsible for safe and efficient operation of Power Boilers
·  Monitor emergency electrical equipment
·  Safely operate and maintain plant equipment
·  Make routine rounds to take various readings and ensure proper operation of all equipment
·  Responsible for housekeeping duties of entire plant
·  Operate emergency generators when required
·  Start and maintain constant pressure on fire line and golf course water line
·  Maintain a proper log book in accordance with Steam Engineer’s responsibilities
·  Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle and handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
·  Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
·  All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

·  Previous experience required, two years experience in a mid-size power plant preferred 
·  4 th Class Power Engineering certification required
·  3 rd Class Power Engineering certification preferred
·  Ability to work 12 hour shifts (day/evenings/overnight)
·  Proven ability to work unsupervised
·  Knowledge of electrical and machinery maintenance
·  Computer literate and ability to work with MS Word and Excel is an asset
·  Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
·  Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
·  Highly responsible & reliable
·  Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
·  Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
