Job Description
Are you a passionate and aspiring pastry chef looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a prestigious 5-star hotel? Join our talented pastry team at Sofitel London St James and take the next step in your culinary journey.
As a Commis Pastry Chef, you will assist our team in creating exceptional pastries and decadent desserts for the Rose Lounge, Events, Bistrot, In-Room Dining, and the St James Bar, as well as curating special amenities for guest rooms.
With a keen eye for detail and a passion for perfection, you will contribute to delivering outstanding pastry creations while refining your skills in a dynamic kitchen environment. This role is a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and enhance your knowledge of pastry techniques and trends.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the preparation and production of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
· Support senior pastry chefs in maintaining high culinary standards and presentation.
· Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
· Contribute ideas and creativity to menu development and seasonal offerings.
· Work efficiently to maintain consistency and quality across all pastry items.
Qualifications
· Some experience in a professional pastry kitchen or relevant culinary training.
· Passion for pastry and a willingness to learn and develop new techniques.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Flexibility to work over the weekend, according to the rota.
· Availability to work on a Full Time permanent basis.
· A culinary degree or relevant certification is advantageous but not essential.
