Job description

Key tasks

To have a good knowledge of the Hotel’s charge rates.
To have a good knowledge of the Hotel’s facilities.
You must comply with the Hotel’s Customer Care Principles.
You must ensure that all Guest Registration Forms are filed out in full (to comply with the Prevention of Terrorism Act).
Ensure that guests’ security and the Hotel’s security is maintained at all times.
Alarms on and off as required, ensuring that all doors are secured.
Collecting all continental breakfast hangers and setting for breakfast in the Restaurant, including setting up breakfast trays.
Providing room service to in-house guests on request.
Delivery of newspapers to rooms.
Be aware of all the various departments of the Hotel and to be able to communicate with them effectively.
Familiarise yourself with clients who use the Hotel frequently and assist the Hotel in attracting more of the same.
Ensure that you have a good knowledge of all the correspondence relating to the day’s business.
You must have a full understanding of the importance of proper Duty Handovers.
Familiarise yourself with the Hotel’s check in/out procedures.

Familiarise yourself with the Hotel’s Reception computer system.
Ensure that all monies are accounted for and available for collection and inspection. You will be accountable for all money at reception whilst on duty (this includes float and all money paid in).
Ensure that you have a good knowledge of the Hotel’s policy relating to Health and Safety and Fire Evacuation Procedures.
Assist the Reception/Night Manager by attending to all operations related to the Front Desk and report any problems that have arisen during the shift.
Attend Departmental meetings and assist the Reception/Night Manager by contributing positively and ensuring that any decisions made are communicated and carried out effectively.
To undertake any other reasonable requests as made by the management.
