Job Description
·
Study marine organisms, including fish, mammals, invertebrates, and plants, to understand their biology, behavior, genetics, and ecology.
·
Research the effects of environmental factors such as water temperature, salinity, pollution, and climate change on marine ecosystems.
· Collect samples from oceans, beaches, and other marine environments for analysis.
· Analyze biological, chemical, and physical data to draw conclusions and identify trends or threats to marine life.
·
Assess the health of marine ecosystems and develop conservation strategies.
·
Study the impact of human activities (like fishing, pollution, and coastal development) on marine life and ecosystems.
·
Advise government agencies, environmental organizations, or private companies on policies or practices that can help protect marine habitats.
·
Educate the public, students, or government bodies on marine conservation and the importance of protecting marine biodiversity.
·
Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and private companies in marine conservation efforts or to promote sustainable practices in fishing or tourism.
· Adapt the ESG governance, procedures and incentives by integrating strategic sustainability projects into the property.
· Ensure compliance for all initiatives and secure property data to support certifications.
· Reporting on all projects and adoption into the property.
· As directed by the Corporate leader of Sustainability engage in the Global initiatives for Sustainability.
· Manage a local deployment team, and reports progress to the Property General Manager.
· Distribute procedures to address the changes required to the operation
· Support property activation of corporate initiatives including but not limited to Security procedures, fire, Safety, and HACCP.
· Activate additional Global Projects for the region.
· Conduct property audits and provide feedback and direction to property GMs.
· The central source of information or controls on global projects.
· To provide information to guests about the hotel and Marine Biology
· To animate Workshops and activities linked to Marine Biology at Pullman Panwa and, occasionally, any other place requested within Phuket.
· To pro-actively engage with guests to make them interested and participate to activities
· To innovate by proposing to management new activities or improve existing ones.
· To provide guest recognition at all times by addressing guests by name and interacting with them on a personal level.
· Never say no to guests by searching to offer alternatives if a service is unavailable.
· To answer the telephone in a courteous manner in accordance with hotel standards.
· To accept and accurately record all guest bookings for activities act in accordance with department procedure
· To accept responsibility for, and to show initiative in decision making when handling minor guest complaints, in order to achieve instant guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
· Bachelor, degree in marine and coastal resources education.
· At least 1-2 years' experience in the sector and impeccable knowledge of indoors and outdoors Activities
· Strong understanding of biology and ecology.
· Solid knowledge of Accor global Sustainability strategy.
· Fluent in English.
· Experience working in Asia preferred.
· Languages: fluent English, knowledge of Thai language and a 3rd language is a plus.
· Experience in conducting research and engaging with diverse audiences, including the public, guests, and governmental or environmental organizations.
