Job Description
Scope
To ensure a consistent supply of linens between the Laundry and the clean linen storage areas throughout the Hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Transport soiled linens from guest room floors to Laundry
· Transport cleaned and pressed linens from Laundry to Housekeeping Attendants and clean linen storage areas throughout Hotel
· Sort and stock clean linens onto appropriate shelves
· Inform Housekeeping Management of linen inventory
· Assist Housekeeping Attendants in completing tasks, when required
· Respond to guest requests, as assigned by Housekeeping Office Supervisor
· Ensure a safe and healthy environment for both guests and staff
Physical Demands
· Constant standing and walking
· Frequent bending, stretching, twisting, reaching above and below shoulder-level
· Significant lifting and carrying items weighing up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
· Significant pushing of carts weighing up to 100 pounds / 45 kg
· Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
· Fast paced work environment with time pressure
· Exposure to a hot, humid, noisy environment
Qualifications
· Previous housekeeping experience is an asset
· Flexible schedule to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
· Able to meet the physical demands of the position
· Demonstrates excellent time management skills and high attention to detail
· Self-motivated, results-oriented, and driven to meet objectives
· Brings a positive attitude to work
· Capable of remaining calm and working effectively under pressure
· Works well independently
· Able to communicate in English and understand health and safety material presented in English
