About us
Situated on a unique vantage point with breath taking views over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain range, Mercure Queenstown Resort offers 148 guests rooms, two restaurants, a lounge bar and conference facilities. We are growing our diverse team and are looking for a Guest Service Agent/Duty Manager to join our front office team.
About the role
The Houseman plays a vital role in supporting the Housekeeping team, by ensuring all public areas, hotel floors, and back-of-house spaces are clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked with supplies. The Houseman assist with heavy lifting, linen distribution, and general housekeeping tasks to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and efficiency across the hotel.
Key responsibilities include:
· Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in public areas, hallways, and back-of-house spaces.
· Assist Room Attendants by restocking housekeeping trolleys and store rooms with supplies and linens.
· Handle heavy lifting tasks, such as moving furniture, setting up extra beds, and transporting housekeeping carts.
· Collect and distribute linens, towels, and other housekeeping essentials.
· Assist with deep cleaning projects, including carpet shampooing and window cleaning.
· Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping team needs.
· Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored and report any defective equipment as set down in the procedures manual.
· Assist with cleaning of guest rooms.

· Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
