Key tasks

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

To increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous service to guests in the hotel F&B areas in line with departmental and hotel guidelines, and Accor corporate guidelines and service concepts.

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PROVIDE EFFICIENT, PROMPT, TROUBLE FREE, AND COURTEOUS SERVICE

• Greets and welcomes all guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Escorts guests to their table, introducing themselves and explaining the menu
• Actively promotes the specials of the day and other promotions to all guest
• Accurately records guest orders and repeats for confirmation
• Processes all checks accurately in Micros
• Checks the Micros system for correct billing instructions or packages
• Serves guests their drink order promptly and courteously
• Set and serve tables in accordance with Restaurant service standards
• Accurately records guest orders and serves beverages orders
• Communicates with the kitchen on preparation times
• Checks periodically if guests need anything else
• Ensures that the working area and station is stocked with “mise-en-place” and kept clean and tidy at all times
• Ensures the smooth running of the assigned station at all times
• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the food & beverage menus items to be able to advise guests on selection and promote additional sales accordingly
• Maintains good knowledge of wines and other beverages available to guest
• Promotes additional sales by taking opportunities to up-sell, in a manner that is professional and courteous
• Liaises with the Food & Beverage Manager concerning set-ups and reservations
