SO/ Budapest will open towards the end of 2026 and our search for an experienced Director of Sales to join our team and play a crucial part in this successful opening begins.
Located in a prime position overlooking the iconic Chain Bridge and the Danube River, SO/ Budapest Hotel is a bold new addition to the city’s luxury hospitality scene. The hotel features 349 elegantly designed rooms and suites, complemented by a vibrant mix of dining and entertainment experiences. Guests can enjoy an all-day dining restaurant, a show-stopping rooftop bar with panoramic views, and extensive wellness facilities that offer a space for both relaxation and rejuvenation.
Designed with both leisure and business travellers in mind, the hotel also boasts state-of-the-art MICE facilities, making it a key destination for events, meetings, and social gatherings in the heart of the city.
Job Description
What you’ll do…
· Develop and implement strategic commercial plans, together with the Director Revenue and Director of Brand Marketing to source, drive and grow revenue across all segments, constantly monitoring results and adjusting strategies and activities to make sure objectives and targets are being met.
· Manage and lead the sales team from recruitment and induction through to team development, encouraging a highly proactive and high performing environment that ultimately allows the team to deliver on objectives.
· Ensure close working relationships with Ennismore regional and brand leads for Sales, Revenue and Brand as well as fostering strong working relationships with the wider Accor Global Sales Team.
· Provide local market knowledge that helps us stay ahead of the competition.
· Take ownership for pre-opening sales strategies and the sales critical path.
· Collaborate with key teams (e.g., Hotel Operations, Brand, Revenue, Digital, Graphics & PR) ensuring key information and insights are shared and strong relationships are built to ensure everyone is effectively working together to drive top line revenue and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
· Manage a portfolio of accounts, taking the lead on rate negotiations and account management activities whilst ensuring we maximise our market share.
· Both guest and team experience will be at the heart of all you do. You will lead from the front and your presence in the business will be felt by the team and guests alike.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for…
· Strong sales experience with local and/or international experience in a similar role preferably within a luxury and/or lifestyle environment.
· You have previous pre-opening experience.
· A balance between a methodical, process and results driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to juggling multiple priorities, meeting deadlines and finding solutions.
· You are comfortable with the strategic as well as day to day detail.
· You are an excellent relationship builder, confident in working with other teams, leaders and ownership; you’re passionate about what we can achieve together.
· You want to question the norm and create change by doing things differently.
· You’re grounded, we leave our egos at the door and approach everything with an open mind.
