Job Description
Managing Property Operations and Engineering Budgets

· Supervises the complete Engineering team.
· Manages the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
· Maintains and operates equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety.
· Establishes and manages an effective rooms maintenance program.
· Ensures compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards and procedures.
· Manages department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
· Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
· Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required.
· Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
· Supervises the day to day operations of Engineering.

· Maintains accurate logs and records as required.
· Assists in effectively planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.

General/ miscellaneous

· Ensures all staff is thoroughly familiar with the hotel’s emergency procedures and in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
· Execution of regular technical/skills training. Is responsible for setting up and maintaining ongoing training programs in the Engineering department.
· Initiates Fire Fighting Training in co-ordination with the Security Manager and the local authorities (Fire Brigade) on a regular basis for all Hotel departments.
· Maintains a monthly overview of vacation- and public holiday balance of all his/her staff and delivers a monthly consolidated summary to the HR Manager
· Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
· Assist in Task Force Teams for new openings.
· Carry out any other reasonable task (which may not be stated here) as requested
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in a comparable position in a hotel setting.
Other: Computer skills and good communication skills
