· Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
· Work under the direction of the Chef de Partie and Head Chef to ensure smooth service and kitchen operations.
· Take responsibility for a specific section of the kitchen, helping to maintain a clean and organized environment.
· Follow all recipes, procedures, and presentation standards to ensure dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
· Ensure that all food is stored and handled in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
· Contribute to menu planning and food preparation for special events or promotions.
· Manage inventory and ensure proper stock levels for your section.
· Previous experience in a similar role with a luxury hotel or professional kitchen.
· Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and cooking techniques.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
· Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
· Passionate about cooking and eager to learn and develop new skills.
· Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
· 2-3 years in a similar role in a medium to large hotel.
· Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred.
· Hospitality School Certificate is preferred
· Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications an asset
· Positive attitude
· Good communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure
· Ability to work on own and in teams
· Ability to make decisions
· Good product knowledge
· Ability to produce checklists
· HACCP control knowledge
