Key tasks

Mercure Daventry Court Hotel & Spa is seeking a dynamic, innovative and creative Conference & Banqueting Operations Manager to oversee the largest conferencing hotel in Daventry.

You will be exposed to and responsible for the delivery of successful events which includes delivering fantastic and engaging service, innovative Food and Beverage and liaising with other suppliers involved in event delivery.

Events include gala dinners, exhibitions, corporate conferences, product launches, weddings and social events, to name a few.

This is a 'hands on' position that includes overseeing all conference and banqueting operations, guest liaison and supervision of employees. You will also undertake a number of other duties including:

- Using your attention to detail to plan for and oversee event set ups
- Communication and follow up with key clients and events organisers
- Providing food and drinks service to customers, maximising every opportunity to increase sales
- Supervising, supporting and developing employees to ensure a consistent and high level of service for all customer contact
- Working closely and communicating effectively with all departments particularly the Kitchen and Conference Sales to ensure smooth transitions from sales to operations
- Full ownership for event staff plans and rosters and management of departmental budget targets
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure repeat business

Essential and optional requirements

The successful candidate will have previous experience in Conferencing and Banqueting and Food and Beverage Supervision.

We expect our team member to be extremely focused on delivering the best experience in the market place. You must have the very highest of standards and a fanatical attention to detail for service and customer relations.

You will also be flexible in regards to your availability and have a passion for creating exceptional customer moments and can demonstrate proven relationship building experience.

You should have immaculate presentation with an extremely keen eye for detail, be professional, personable and driven with an ability to work autonomously.

You will also need to have full United Kingdom working rights in order to apply.
