For corporate events and local galas, the hotel features 3,500 square meters of function space, including a 1,200 square-meter Grand Ballroom.

Job Description

As a Commis Pastry Chef at a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality pastries and desserts for various dining outlets within the hotel. You will work closely with the Pastry Chef and Sous Chef to ensure the highest standards of taste, presentation, and consistency. Your role will require creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
 

Employment will be under local contract. Open for Indonesian citizens only.

What you will be doing:

·  Assist in preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, breads, and other baked goods, ensuring the highest quality and consistency.
·  Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines established by the Pastry Chef.
·  Assist in the daily mise en place, ensuring all ingredients and tools are prepared and available for service.
·  Contribute to the creation of new and seasonal dessert offerings, offering innovative ideas that align with the hotel's brand and guests’ expectations.
·  Help develop special pastry and dessert items for high-end events, banquets, and VIP functions.
·  Work closely with senior pastry chefs and kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.
·  Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, adhering to safety and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications

·  Formal culinary training or equivalent experience in a fine-dining or luxury hotel kitchen, particularly in pastry or baking.
·  A passion for pastry arts and a keen interest in creating innovative and high-quality desserts.
·  Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and decoration styles.
·  Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a calm, organized approach.
·  Excellent attention to detail, with an eye for presentation and aesthetics.
·  Ability to work well in a team environment and follow direction from senior kitchen staff
·  Creativity and passion for pastry
