Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Commis II specializing in Continental Cuisine to join our culinary team at Grand Mercure Mysore, India. As a Commis II, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional continental dishes.

·  Assist in the preparation and cooking of continental cuisine dishes under the guidance of senior chefs
·  Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients with precision
·  Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
·  Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service
·  Assist in the proper storage and labeling of ingredients and prepared foods
·  Support inventory management by reporting low stock levels and participating in stock rotations
·  Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas and flavor combinations
·  Assist in plating and garnishing dishes to meet presentation standards
·  Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned

Qualifications

·  Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification in culinary arts
·  1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting, preferably with a focus on continental cuisine
·  Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills and various food preparation techniques
·  Strong knowledge of continental cuisine and its cooking methods
·  Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
·  Current food safety certification
·  Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
·  Strong teamwork and communication skills
·  Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
·  Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and trends
·  Passion for creating high-quality dishes and attention to detail in food presentation
