Job Description

The Commis I - Bakery is responsible for assisting in the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality baked goods, desserts, and pastries. Working under the guidance of the Pastry Chef or Sous Chef, the Commis I ensures adherence to established standards and practices, contributing to the overall success of the bakery and culinary operations.

·   Prepare a variety of baked goods such as breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts according to prescribed recipes and presentation standards.
·  Ensure accurate portioning and proper use of ingredients.
·  Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety throughout the baking process.
·  Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality, taste, and presentation requirements.
·   Assist in the setup and breakdown of the bakery workstation.
·  Collaborate with the Pastry Chef and kitchen team to meet daily production schedules.
·  Monitor inventory and assist in stocking ingredients, ensuring minimal waste.
·  Follow all kitchen policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

·  Proven experience in bakery operations, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment.
·  Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
·  Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
·  Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
·  Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
·  Team player with good communication skills.
