Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Commis 2 to join our culinary team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Commis 2, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes whilst adhering to food safety standards.

·  Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef's instructions
·  Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
·  Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
·  Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing ones
·  Support in inventory management and stock rotation
·  Assist in plating and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
·  Participate in kitchen team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements
·  Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively during peak hours

Qualifications

·  Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification
·  1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting
·  Proficiency in basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods
·  Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
·  Valid food safety certification
·  Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely
·  Excellent time management and organisational skills
·  Strong teamwork and communication abilities
·  Physical stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
·  Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
·  Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine is desirable
·  Basic English language skills
·  Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and trends
