Job Description
Operational
· Assist in the management of all day to day finance matters, including but not limited to, invoicing, AR, AP, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Tax and Payroll.
· Assist with the production of the monthly management accounts by preparing and entering journals for all accruals, prepayments and provisions.
· Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed to agreed deadlines with all reconciling items investigated and resolved promptly.
· Assist in the preparation and entry of the monthly accounts into the Group consolidation system.
· Ensure all local and Group reporting requirements are completed within required deadlines and to a high standard.
· Perform variance analysis to evaluate company performance and provide commentary to explain key variances to budget / forecast.
· Assist in the preparation of information for local management performance reviews.
· Continuously review existing working practices and processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
· Build good working relationships with key contacts in order to understand the business and the needs of the business.
· Assist the Financial Controller in the coaching and development of the Finance Team as individuals and as a team.
· Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.
· Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.
Control, Governance and Compliance
· Ensure all local / national government reporting to comply with regulatory requirements is completed accurately and by the required deadline.
· Assist with the year-end close process for IFRS Group reporting and local GAAP Statutory reporting.
· Assist in the preparation and collation of information for the year-end external audit and liaise with the external auditors.
· Assist in the preparation of the annual statutory accounts for the company.
· Support the Financial Controller in the implementation and continuous monitoring of strong internal controls and processes across the business.
· Assist the Financial Controller with all internal audit requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting
· Assist with the preparation and submission of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, by liaising with other departments to collect data and appropriately challenging assumptions.

Ideal Experience / Skills
· A degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent finance focused subject and/or a professional finance qualification
· Proven experience of working in a similar role and / or at an equivalent level in a comparable business
· Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
· Experience of working in manufacturing or a similar industry sector would be highly beneficial
· Fluent in written and spoken English
