Job Description

The Apprentice Legal Counsel reports to the Legal Manager - Global Sales and works in the headquarters in Paris Suburban Area (Issy les Moulineaux). Within a team of 8 lawyers, in close coordination with the Legal Manager for Global Sales, the Apprentice Legal Counsel participates to the deployment of the commercial strategy of the Group.

The Apprentice Legal Counsel is responsible for addressing legal matters submitted by the Group Global Sales team (addressing both Luxury & Lifestyle and Premium Midscale Eco divisions) including for example: relationships with global OTAs partners and B2B leisure partners, travel management companies, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions).

The Apprentice Legal Counsel must have strong knowledge of competition/antitrust, general commercial, distribution and contract law.

Under the supervision of the Legal Manager – Global Sales, the Apprentice Legal Counsel - Global Sales shall:

·  Secure and enable strategic commercial agreements,
·  Support and enable effective deployment of the Group commercial, business and sales strategy,
·   Prevent, navigate and resolve legal issues,
·   Actively monitor regulatory developments (in the hotel sector) and best practices relevant to the Group including making proposals in order to ensure that any regulatory changes are anticipated and managed,
·  Provide regular training to the business teams, when necessary, on new legal or regulatory developments,
·  Support the teams with regards relationships with authorities and administrations (DDPP, DGCCRF, EU Commission),
·  Actively support in the deployment of the use of the digital tools used at Group level, in particular the Global Contracting Policy,
·  Actively participate in the drafting and regular updates of templates necessary for the sales team to reach business autonomy, in line with the Group Global Contract Policy,
·  Any other task which may be deemed fit to protect the reputation and assets of the Group.

Qualifications

Experience/Education : 

·  Master law degree in Contract, Distribution, competition and/or Economic Law as well as International Business Law, ideally with double cursus,
·  Experience in international business law, competition, distribution & general commercial laws as well as in pre-litigation & contractual negotiation.

·  Strong drafting skills ,
·  Strong communication (written and oral) and people skills,
·  Ability to simplify and be impactfu l,
·  Strong business acumen ,
·  Methodical organizational skills, ability to plan and to be pragmatic: strong project management skills,
·  Awareness of main compliance matters such as data protection, fight against corruption, compliance to international sanctions, duty of vigilance and competition/antitrust law,
·  Curiosity and capacity to understand and implement the requirements of sector regulations,
·  Technology savvy, good understanding of information systems and advanced technologies.
