Locations: London, Manchester, Edinburgh (must be willing to be based at and travel to client sites throughout the UK)

What is Visual Analytics?

Visual Analytics enables users to maximise the value of their data to solve business problems by creating analytics applications that provide insight, drill down, root cause analysis and next best action without reports, spreadsheets and meetings.

Visual Analytics employs powerful capabilities to find data-driven answers with User Experience (UX) and wide adoption as core design concepts.

Virtual Reality and Visual Analytics

Visual Analytics has been exploring alternative mediums to present information to a user or user groups. The current generation of VR solutions has almost mitigated the majority of issues with previous generations of VR headsets including latency, low resolution, weight of headset and cost. In 2016 the consumer market will have the choice of buying from over 6 major manufacturers and eco-systems.

Our Visual Analytics Delivery practice focuses on helping clients tackle the full breadth of their business challenges. Demand for our Visualisation and Analytics services are growing rapidly, and we continue to look for dynamic and innovative individuals to work with us in Visual Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Roles in Visual Analytics adapt to the current business demands and trends and continually evolve. If we were to summarise our current activities:

• Raise awareness of the power of visualisation directly with our clients, at conferences and publishing our points of view

• Developing new capabilities for our clients using Virtual Reality and Visual Analytics

• Creating device agnostic applications that solve specific business problems for desk bound users to mobile field workers.

• Enriching existing customer insights with new external sources such as twitter, Facebook, amazon, google+, weather data, Apple App Store, etc.

• Creating digital analytics strategies, which enable business users to take advantage of advanced analytics models through simple to use touch interfaces and ‘drag and watch' what if analytics solutions

• Create immersive enterprise applications using Unity or Unreal engines.

• Innovate with open source technologies such as D3 and HTML 5 to create truly unique solutions

• 100% Agile delivery with the focus on time to value for our clients before industrialising solutions

• Develop 3D models and Graphics

• Developing User Interfaces (UIs) and User Experiences (Ux) that support wide adoption of our solutions

• Create and deliver end to end solutions using new data sources from advancements in sensor and location technologies e.g. telematics, GPS, Geospatial, Pressure Senors, Health Trackers, Internet of Things (IoT)

Technical Skills:

We are most interested in individuals with experience with some of the following toolsets and digital platforms:

• Qlikview & QlikSense, Tableau, TibcoSpotfire, Birst, Pentaho, JasperSoft, Board, SAS Visual Analytics, SAP Lumira, D3, HTML 5, JavaScript

• Web Analytics : Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics

• Social Media Analytics : Clarabridge, Radion6, DataSift

• Advanced Analytics : Revolution R, Alteryx

• ETL and Data Cleanse and Integration : Trillium, Talend

• Database Management and Big Data solutions : Amazon Web Services (RedShift/ Kinesis), Cloudera, Hadoop, Spark, Google BigQuery

Unity Virtual Reality Developer:

· Unity3D, C# / .NET, solid 3d maths / geometry

· UnrealEngine

· VR experience (e.g. Oculus Rift), 3D UX design, C++, Git

· Specific experience with Editor extensions, Shader programming, Mecanim, Profiling tools & performance optimisation and networking & multiplayer in Unity3D

Professional Requirements:

• Proven ability to apply analytical and creative thought

• Proven ability to deliver high profile activities to tight timescales

• Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment

• Experience delivering projects within an agile environment

• Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

Flexibility and mobility is required to deliver this role as there may be requirements to spend time onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery of the first class services we are known for.
