Job Summary
The Pubs Program Manager assigns work to the Publishing Project Manager in the preparation and manufacture of published material for designated testing programs. The Publishing Project Managers work with many project stakeholders, including Content Editorial, GDS, TPS, Pubs Production Planning, Supply Chain Manager, Pubs QC staff and the SBU to insure completion of the prepress process and the smooth transition of files to selected print suppliers or the client.
They will issue RFQs for specific jobs or projects and be comfortable negotiating for the benefit of client They will work closely with the Pubs Team Program Manager to coordinate the activities of all client's managed print suppliers. They will cut the Purchase Orders for their work and resolve any match exceptions that arise.
Key Responsibilities
• Obtain workload and specific project assignments Pubs Program Team Manager
• Establish specification requirements for all assigned projects; identify required production milestone schedule dates and present all required components to Production Planning for scheduling
• Manage BOM and File Run Dates with the ACN Program Planner
• Coordinate with Program Planner deliverables for kit projects and/or score reporting
• Ensure that all materials (test books, CD-Rom, labels, forms, etc.) are documented via the proper channels and the data is complete and accurate
• Provide insight and recommendations for product design/spec improvements.
• Report variances against project plans and Book of Work (BOW), to Pubs Program Manager, Supply Chain Manager and ACN PMO; manage outcomes
• Manage operational integrity of products regarding inbound/outbound requirements
• Formulate creative specification for proposals. Expected to identify improvements in terms of cost, efficiency, time, etc.
• Adhere to process and procedure steps in completion of project assignments
• Establish and manage/maintain good working relationships with project stakeholders, especially PD/SBU, to assure seamless input for project initiation and follow through

Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of three years' experience of all phases of publishing and print production
Preferred Qualifications
• BA degree
• Experience using MS Windows & MS Office
• PeopleSoft program
• Strong project management abilities
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Ability to establish in-depth and concise project related project plans for publishing projects.
• Ability to ensure the effective accomplishment of work activities through planning, control, and problem-solving management
• Skill to negotiate and persuade customers/manufacturers in alternate cost and quality recommendations for publications
• Interpersonal and communication skills suitable for dealing with all levels of staff and external supplier personnel to control production methods, costs and schedules
• Ability to write clear, concise, complete and accurate specifications and communications
• Knowledge of quality control, confidentiality and security procedures
• Thorough knowledge of printing processes both conventional and digital, proofing systems and copy preparation.
• Ability to research, maintain, coordinate and/or update technological advancements related to computer management, TPS/Publication Services, paper, printing, and related industries
• Skill in concise, complete and accurate project data management
• Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of in-house and vendor graphic arts equipment and services enough to analyze each job and establish appropriate lead times for completion
• Knowledge of graphic design enabling development of specifications, product design and ability to evaluate design applicable to produce production
• Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures that relate to project responsibilities to facilitate completion of assigned projects
• Ability to take direction and provide upward feedback
