Job description

Understanding purpose in the transition of the Resources sector and making Accenture's employees more aware about their plastic consumption

Purpose
The Resources industry is facing an era of severe disruption. The energy transition and sustainability targets are driving a re-thinking of traditional business models, with innovation and digital driving further change acceleration. Therefore, we see utilities, energy and chemical companies starting to reconsider their traditional roles and to start to play in a more and more converging market. This raises questions as: “What will the future of the organization look like?”, “How to successfully pivot into this new reality?” and “In what way will our company serve our future generations?”. The purpose is often a key part of our client discussions. As their role in society has been clear and stable in the past, the new dynamics of the energy transition gives both challenges and opportunities. “What is our role in society?” and “How can we deliver sustainable growth?”. Companies are seeking for ways to define positive impacts for society. Besides, they want to ensure a long-term prosperous future for the company. We see this time of disruption as an excellent opportunity to make purpose one of the design principles of the future model of an organization. By applying for this internship, you can be part of this adventure!

CSR
Do you want to tackle the plastic problem? This is your chance! The second part of your internship will be to support our Corporate Social Responsibility department. Since fostering sustainable economic growth is at the heart of our environmental strategy, Accenture has set the goal towards zero waste by 2030. As a large part of Accenture's waste are plastics, we are exploring alternatives to achieve our 2030 goal. Do you have many ideas on how can we encourage, motivate and help our employees to reduce their plastic consumption? This internship gives you the opportunity to define a bottom-up approach!

Are you a WO student and do you want to gain experience in the field of sustainability in a big international firm? Apply now! Within the Resources industry group of Accenture in Amsterdam we are looking for an intern starting the 1st of March, for a period of 6 month and 40 hours a week (preferably without a thesis). Do you have what we are looking for?

What we offer?
This internship is a unique opportunity to be involved in client related work and to actively contribute to an Accenture internal project. You will gain experience in working with multiple Resources clients (energy, chemical and utility companies) and will take the lead in shaping a project to make our own employees aware of their plastic consumption

During your internship you will engage with a team of experienced consultants within our resources team in the Netherlands to drive the discussion of a purpose led transformation with our clients. Focusing on what the purpose transformation means for them and what it takes to be successful. You will be running our program to drive client discussions, supporting client specific research, driving the preparation of the client discussions and supporting the publication of our purpose blog. This insight is key to drive further acceleration in the sustainability transformation.

Besides, you will be able to develop and research initiatives to make our own employees more aware of their plastic consumption. Based on your insights you would determine recommendations on Accenture can lower their plastic utilization.
