The Financial Specialist will serve as a member of the Functional Team and will support the client's audit readiness goals through a variety of workstreams. This team member will be required to gain a working knowledge of finance business processes, internal controls, and financial management systems in support of our clients' efforts to produce auditable financial statements.

On a daily basis, our Financial Specialist will be expected to:

· Provide recommendations to improve the financial management infrastructure and environment
· Interact with the client and users around specific work efforts and deliverables
· Be able to understand the client's financial operations for specific business processes
· Document and map processes and internal controls
· Develop test plans to verify the accountability of various business segments
· Document findings and recommendations to remediate finance and accounting issues
· Coordinate and lead efforts directed by system migration initiatives
· Supervise small teams of Analysts
· Effectively communicate with the client on a daily basis

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:

·  Minimum 3 years of experience in one of more of the following capabilities: financial management; process design/re-engineering; audit/internal control testing; financial reporting
·  Minimum 2 years of experience with MS Office applications (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
·  Minimum 1 year experience in Federal Government Accounting and/or Auditing experience
·  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
·  US Citizenship Required

Preferred Skills:

·  Federal Consulting Experience
·  Understanding of the DoD's financial environment and operations
·  CPA, CGFM, or CDFM are a plus
·  Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
·  Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
·  One or more of the following systems: Microsoft Access; Visual Basic for Applications; DoD procurement and payment systems; SharePoint
·  Systems mapping knowledge, understanding data flows as they apply to financial systems
·  Business Process Improvement through automated tools or strengthened interal controls
·  Financial/Accounting aspects of acquisition, understanding of Navy acquisition processes and financial impacts
·  Leadership experience managing resources and deliverables from onset to final delivery
·  Existence and Completeness (E&C) of assets, materials or inventory
·  Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
·  Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
·  Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
