The Application Developer is responsible for the design, build and test of changes to the system. Changes can include either maintenance fixes or enhancements to the system.

Responsibilities include:

· Liaise with client personnel, team members and members from other teams to resolve any design issues in a timely fashion.
· Develop and implement the solution throughout all phases of the software development life cycle.
· Complete all deliverables in a timely fashion, according to standards and with an emphasis on quality.
· Escalate issues which may affect the project delivery to the development team lead.

Basic qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree
· 2-4 years experience
· Strong programming skills and the ability to learn and master new programming technologies and techniques.

Demonstrated programming skills (C, C++ or Cobol desirable)

· 
Demonstrated understanding of waterfall software development lifecycle

· 
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team

Familiarity with Unix

Familiarity with SQL

· 
Drive to learn new technical skills

· 
Drive to learn new business processes (i.e. keen to understand what our system does for our client)

Professional skill requirements:

Good communication skills (both written and verbal)

Strong software development or software engineering background with a can-do attitude

Essential requirements:

Due to client requirements candidates must hold Australian Citizenship and have NVL1 security clearance OR holds Baseline Clearance and the ability to obtain NVL1 Clearance.
