Brewing First Line Manager
Samlesbury
The Site:
Our Samlesbury brewery, located near Preston is less than 5 minutes drive from junction 31 of the M6. In a single day, Samlesbury brewery can produce 3.5 million bottles, 1.7 million cans and 17 thousand kegs which means the site's annual production capacity is approximately 2.5 million hectolitres per year. This is equivalent to more than 440 million pints. We are currently looking to recruit a Brewing First Line Manager to join our Brewing team.
The Job:
Working a flexible shift pattern, you will manage the team’s daily and weekly activities, in order to efficiently produce the right amount of beer, in a safe environment, according to the highest standard quality whilst following the AB InBev ways of working.
You will:
· Comply to EH&S, quality and HACCP standards
· Adhere to production schedules for Brewhouse, fermentation and filtration areas to meet packaging and quality needs
· Motivate your team to achieve departmental KPI's
· Contribute to the identification of improvement plans as reviewed during the daily, weekly and monthly meetings processes
· Share accountability in the maintenance and utility cost performance across the brewing department
· Ensure process compliance
· Manage your team including leading shift handover meetings, work schedules, analysing and fulfilling training needs, monitoring individual performance, coaching and development
· Walk the floor – lead by example, positively challenge under-performance whilst reinforcing good behaviours
You will have:

· A minimum of A level or equivalent education
· Already possess or be prepared to study for the IBD diploma in Brewing
· Sound knowledge of the brewing process, including yeast and fermentation cycles
· Experience of managing teams to meet deadlines, targets and KPI’s
· Experience of high speed production in a management or supervisory role
· Excellent knowledge of manufacturing principles, tools and techniques
· Good analytical and problem solving skills – Green belt would be a distinct advantage
· Highly results focused with a strong attention to detail
· Highly structured and systematic approach to delivering business solutions
