Opcare is a private company that works in partnership with the NHS to provide Orthotic & Prosthetic services to NHS patients.

We are currently looking for a Technician to join our multifunctional workshop in Oxford.

Technician - This role is based in Oxford and whilst we do not expect you to have experience of working in prosthetic manufacturing, experience of working within a workshop or manufacturing environment is a necessity.

Summary of the Role

Technicians work within the workshop environment within the Specialised Mobility Centre, supporting the prosthetic clinic by building, repairing and maintaining medical devises prescribed to patients

Job Description and Purpose

To Prepare and assemble/build medical devises as required by the Clinician according to the requirements of the prescription and work order.
To assess the prescription to understand the nature of the requirements and ensure that finished products comply with associated measure chart and manufacturer’s instructions.
Completing and maintaining inspection records, manually and electronically.
To assist and support the workshop Manager in the identification of any quality issues and to provide effective solutions.
Assist and support your peers to drive quality outputs whilst meeting the demands of a busy workshop.
Support the tertiary functions of the workshop e.g. storeroom function.
Ensuring correct materials and components are used, considering patient safety and wellbeing at all times.
Ensuring manufacturing activities are undertaken in compliance to company/site Health & Safety procedures as well as Health and Safety Regulation.

Location: Oxford

Hours: Full time

Salary: c£16,000 (dependant on experience)
