Manager/Sr.Manager, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Solid Tumor will be responsible for the development, leading and communicating innovative HEOR strategies and tactics to optimize the value proposition of the hematology therapeutic area. The Manager/Sr.Manager provides updates on execution of plans to products as well as functional management and represents HEOR at appropriate solid tumor leadership meetings. Ensures project plans integrate and align with the product strategic plans from matrix teams to achieve AbbVie's ambition in oncology.
Key Responsibilities Includes:
Ā· Conduct health economics and outcomes research projects under the supervision of the manager to support the value proposition to payers, patients, and prescribers
Ā· Applies extensive technical knowledge and experience to plan, execute, and interpret research and data collection activities. Actively participates in Asset Development Teams (clinical), US Medical Affairs Teams (medical), and Integrated Brand Teams (commercial) as subject matter expert for tactical discussions.
Ā· Applies appropriate research methods to address evidence gaps
Ā· Leads the development of the strategic plans and studies to support patient access all within a highly matrixed, team environment
Ā· Develops and executes HEOR projects including writing RFP, vendor selection, and management including budget
Ā· Executes HEOR research using internal data sets including writing protocols and statistical analysis plans, defending in protocol review committee, and executing research with analyst to writing final reports or publications
Ā· Executes HEOR clinical trial endpoint strategies (PRO, economic, patient experience, etc) in collaboration with clinical development and medical affairs. Assures alignment of research activities with Scientific Research Annual Plan; communicates any changes from plan in a timely manner.
Ā· Proficient at global economic modeling and generation of strategies and evidence to support global launches within HTA markets, and all markets across the world
Ā· Sets the strategic direction of the brand in partnership with the integrated brand teams focusing on the impact of evidence generation to solve complex issues
Ā· PhD in Health economics, pharmacoeconomics, health services research, public health or related field with at least 2 years of experience. Will consider MD or PharmD, both with an MS in Economics, Econometrics, or (pharmaco) epidemiology or any other related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Level commensurate with experience - will consider manager level candidates based on experience
Ā· Previous experience within the oncology therapeutic area, at least 1 year strongly preferred
Ā· Knowledge of the regulatory, HTA and PR&A landscape, as well as understanding of other development-related functions as they relate to all phases of drug development and commercialization process is desired
Ā· Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and matrix leadership skills required
Ā· Possess both strategic and tactical skills in executing HEOR
Ā· Seeking a proven leader within HEOR and the pharmaceutical industry to complete a top performing team in oncology
