The Opportunity

This position works out of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in the Electrophysiology division.   In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

This position is a key value-added role within the Operations and Quality group that partners with various levels of leadership to drive financial ownership, cost efficiency, and business excellence. Scope of responsibilities include complex financial planning, forecasting and reporting for the quality organization, partnering with Quality DVP to achieve annual objectives while driving efficiencies and participates in ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by finance management.

What You’ll Work On

· 
Budgeting and forecasting, financial modeling, capital, headcount and other facets of cost center management for the Quality Organization, including Divisional, Quality RD, Post Market Group and the International Quality group.

· 
Manage the Quality P&L by performing Actual vs LBE variance analysis and commentary at mid-month & month-end.

· 
Collaborate with Quality Leadership to develop budgets and forecasts in support of annual Plan and quarterly LBE to achieve quality objectives.  Perform variance analysis and identify key drivers in support of business performance improvement and strategic decision-making.

· 
Consolidate and present the global EP quality financials during the quarterly LBE reviews.

· 
Manage the monthly closing process and provide analytical insight into budget variances and operational performance; Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.

· 
Conduct regular financial reviews with business partners to communicate financial performance and key business issues and provide valuable insight to help business achieve financial goals.

· 
Provide ad-hoc analyses to support complex decision making and propose final recommendations to management and business leaders; serve as financial lead in cross-functional team environments.

Required Qualifications

· 
Minimum of 5 years of accounting / financial planning and analysis experience and strong preference for experience in cost accounting / manufacturing industry.

· 
BS in Accounting / Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.

· 
Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.

· 
Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.

· 
Highly proficient in Excel.

· 
Displays strong leadership skills.

· 
Self-motivated and proactive, setting high standards for success.

· 
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

· 
Accuracy and attention to detail.

· 
Ability to manage, oversee and execute a portfolio of competing tasks and initiatives.

Proficiency with Excel (e.g. Pivot table, common Excel functionalities), Word, and PowerPoint; strong experience with SAP ERP and Hyperion Planning/Essbase systems preferred.

The base pay for this position is
$95,000.00 – $190,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
