Status: Full time/2 year Contract
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all actions required in the operation of the Klockner machine to produce calibration packs (calpacks) according to established policies and procedures including, but not limited to the following:
- Assemble raw materials;
- Conduct sample build, run the build and manually test for robustness;
- Make adjustments to Klockner equipment, as required;
- Install fluid bags on the line and run builds to ensure maximum throughput;
- Conduct ongoing visual inspection of product during the build in accordance with documented procedures;
- Identify problems with raw materials or process and take immediate actions necessary to consult with lead hand or operational team leader for advice or assistance to rectify the problem.
Responsible for all actions required in the operation of the Laser equipment to cut tape gasket according to established policies and procedures including, but not limited to the following:
- Conduct ongoing visual inspection of product during the build in accordance with documented procedures and take immediate actions necessary to identify and implement solutions to problems that arise. Stop the build if necessary to avoid product scrap.
- Evaluate quality and productivity problems to minimize defects and maximize throughout. Make required material changes in a timely manner to minimize lost processing time.
- Record accurate, legible data in a timely manner at all points in the process, in accordance with documented procedures and GMP standards and practices.
- Use basic tools (e.g. allen keys, wrenches, etc.) on machinery, as required.
Demonstrates leadership behaviors and is recognized as a role model and leader by peers and team leaders.
Continuously seeks opportunities to help out where needed to resolve resource shortages or bottleneck.
Actively trains and mentors less experienced operators to improve skills and abilities of team members.
In absence of lead hand, distributes and coordinates the work of the team to ensure goals are attained.
Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures and guidelines.
Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy workplace culture.
Miscellaneous other duties as may be required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent experience
- This level normally corresponds to job that requires significant knowledge as well as a solid understanding of the whole job and its practical applications. This know-how makes it possible for the employee to solve problems generally encountered
- Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment is an asset.
