Transport Planner, General Cargo

Job description

Tasks:
You will report to the Transport Planning Manager and your responsibilities include the following :

• Optimize ABB transports, considering cost, service (lead time requirements) and other planning parameters
• Maintain communication with transport service providers to place transport orders, receive confirmation, monitor important milestones
• Plan and optimize multi-leg (e.g. ocean and airfreight) and multi-segment (e.g. stop-offs) shipments.
• Manage and dispatch local fleet operations in any areas they are present. Ensure that drivers are monitored and that customer service is provided on any local delivery needs and on all dedicated business.
• Calculate total transportation lead time and transport cost
• Understands different planning techniques including the functionality of transport management systems and load planning tools
• Support Accounts Payable for freight payment reconciliation.

Desired profile

Requirements:

To be considered, you will have a bachelor's degree in supply chain or logistics management/freight forwarding degree with 3-5 years related experience in transport management/freight forwarding. You will be able to work in a dynamic environment with strong prioritizing skills and excellent customer/fleet provider relationship management. Prior experience in TMS platforms such as Oracle TM, JDA TMS, INET, etc. will be advantages. You should have a strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
