Tasks:
ABB Inc. seeks a Project Engineer within our Packaging Group who will be responsible to manage the Engineering and support services for the integration of electrical equipment into Power Distribution Centers (PDC) / e-houses. Candidate must have an engineering degree and fundamental technical experience to gradually perform the successful engineering of large multi-million dollar projects involving low and medium voltage switchgear, drives, motors and various electrical equipment in Power Distribution Centers / e-houses while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
You'll work as part of our Electrification Medium Voltage Power Products division which engineers solutions and products such as switchgear, breakers, relays, instrument transformers and sensor devices.

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

•Plan, monitor, coordinate and execute complex engineering tasks including the technical and quality targets established by ABB, sub supplying vendors and the customer.
•Develop and manage an engineering project plan, design reviews and design approvals between ABB, sub supplying vendors, subcontractors and the customer.
•Develop status reports and modify plans or schedules, as necessary, to ensure contract parameters are met.
•Monitor the performance of subcontractors to ensure they satisfactorily fulfill their commercial and technical supply commitments.
•Actively participate in the Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test with customer and/or other ABB units.
•Maintain close contact with customers and project participants to identify and resolve issues of mutual concern and to seek opportunities for additional business. Ensure timely contract completion, customer satisfaction, and desired financial return.
•Identify and pursue the resolution of problem areas likely to hinder the progress of work or payment of work completed to optimize the successful completion of and payment for project work.

Desired profile

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• BS Electrical Engineering Degree .
• 1- 2 years of Engineering experience specifically with Electrical Power Systems/Products within Utility and/or Industrial sectors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
• Ability to learn power systems and protection-related matters
• Previous knowledge of Low /Medium Switchgear, Breakers, MCC's and various MV/ LV products highly preferred.
• Ability to Travel typically 10-20% or as required to maintain customer objectives.
• Must be able to communicate complex technical subjects to groups of technicians and/or engineers.
• Excellent technical English writing and verbal skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills .
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and desires to deliver to customers a quality, completed project that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications and other equivalent project management software such as Microsoft Project and / or SAP is desirable.
• Knowledge of AutoCad is desirable.
