Job description
Tasks:
- Be a key technical resource for customers and front end sales teams;
- Be a key influencer of specification and innovation with key customers in order to have the ABB solutions become the benchmark in the market place;
- Develop business relationships with customers executives as required, inform them of ABB's technological developments and new products, and assist them to resolve complex problems, achieve cost savings and optimize their operations.
- Identify and develop new, EP business opportunities utilizing ABB's intellectual property, resources, product leadership and experience base in traditional and non-traditional markets worldwide.
- Lead and/or participate in planning efforts in conjunction with other ABB Sales and Business Development Managers in assigned regions.
- Direct, train, and motivate sales representatives by assisting them with complex product applications and sales strategies for their assigned regional area.
- Participate in and play a major role in creation and deployment of regional business development strategies, sales plans and schedules based on National EP Sales Planning.
- Direct the evaluation of contract strategies and risks, development of estimates, target pricing and preparation of proposals.
- Be the technical resource that provides the necessary technical guidance to customers and internal sales teams on other BU's products and solutions in order to propose to customers complete solutions that will meet their needs;
- Be the technical resource with regards to competitor's technical solutions for CA market, strengths and weaknesses. Propose innovative ideas as to overcome competitor's strengths and take advantage of their weaknesses.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor project activity in order to assure customer satisfaction.
- Conduct high level negotiations to accomplish desired results.
- Act as ABB “forward observer” by reporting ABB product gaps, product opportunities, market trends, and market opportunities to ABB's Sr. Management and ABB's Product Management.
- Participate in industry committees and standards organizations.
- Develop and deliver training classes to educate ABB sale force and ABB customers on technical industry topics and product specific
- Routinely identify and resolve technical and commercial conflicts and constraints.
- Prepare project analysis (technical, commercial, risk, and financials) and present findings to ABB management team.
- Coordinate or assist commercial activities for proposals which require corporate risk review analysis and approval.
- Promote ABB EP Services on every project to leverage orders and revenues from spare parts, commissioning, training, preventative maintenance contracts and engineering studies.
- Support project execution for key opportunities.
- Must work well within a team environment
- Candidate must be willing to travel 30 – 40% of the time
