Applications Engineer – Drives

Job description

Tasks:
Main responsibilities

To be part of the drives sales team providing application engineering expertise.

• Offer technical advice (application/legislative) by phone or on-site to customers/channels/sales engineers/internal personnel with regard to drives and applications.
• Propose technical solutions for complex enquiries, in the required timescales.
• Provide comments on enquiry specifications.
• Perform studies (e.g. system / harmonic analysis).
• General engineering consultancy, including the preparation/vetting of technical articles for publication.
• Promoting product capability & inter-operability using demonstration equipment.
• Prepare and deliver presentations for internal/external staff and customers on issues of the day/complex products.
• Provide expert level commissioning support for drive sales by phone or on-site, often involving hands-on working.
• Product management for the Soft Start product portfolio.

• Prepared to travel, mainly within the UK, but occasional trips abroad
• Must possess full driving licence and passport

• Work is often hands on

• Degree or HND/HNC in electrical and/or electronic engineering or related discipline
• Variable speed drives knowledge
