Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Value Stream Manager will be responsible for developing and executing manufacturing strategies and operational plans that drive continuous improvement for safety, quality, service, and cost. As such, this person will be a member o f the Plant Operating Committee and will collaborate with each member of the plant leadership team to help the plant continuously improve.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Work with plant management and portfolio/business management to set short and long term strategic plans as well as operating plans for departments
·  Work with Product Divisions to drive Customer First initiatives in service, quality, and cost improvements
·  Focus on the product extended Value Streams to drive improvement for 3M
·  Deep understanding of customer expectations and maintain/develop systems to ensure customer satisfaction
·  Initiate, approve and execute projects in order to improve safety, service quality, and cost
·  Organize and manage all necessary resources required to improve safety, improve quality, increase customer service and lower cost
·  Direct responsibility for establishing and maintaining budgets for department
·  Provide direct supervision to Engineers, and support groups and set objectives, performance and motivation management and training; will provide strategic direction to plant support functions
·  Develop or direct development and approve standard operating, quality and administrative procedures and policies for manufacturing and related operations; oversee the implementation and administration of all company policies
·  Develop and maintain annual capital and operating budgets; identify, develop budget for, prioritize and direct justification and implementation of capital projects; monitor progress, initiate corrective action as required
·  Direct engineering in resolving issues; review and approve all Engineering Change Requests (EWR’s) and Management Of Change (MOC’s) 
·  Direct and facilitate Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement teams both within and outside of the operations organization to improve customer satisfaction and reduce total costs
·  Clearly communicate to all employees within the focus factory the expectations and results of the facility
·  Providing direction and supervision of direct reports using principal-based leadership strategies

Basic Qualifications:

·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
·  Minimum eight (8) years of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing, manufacturing operations, capital projects, EHS, and/or Quality in a private, public, government or military environment
·  Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited university
·  Experience leading and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology for sustained continuous improvement
·  Strong leadership behaviors
·  Experience leading high performing cross functional teams
·  Demonstrated ability to lead attainment of aggressive objectives for EHS, Quality, Service, and Financial Performance
·  Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
·  Experience working with multiple Divisions, balancing multiple priorities
·  LSS Black Belt certified
·  Progressive thought process and ability to articulate cultural changing strategies to diverse and plant management level leaders.

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
