Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of supply chain analyst will be responsible for both planning and scheduling functions in a plant environment.  This person will partner with various plant and division personnel to help identify, define, and implement improvements to the supply chain processes that will help each division achieve their divisional targets and goals as it relates to inventories and service.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.    

Primary Responsibilities  include but are not limited to the following:

·  Develop and execute capacity, production and procurement plans for designated manufacturing lines and associated products.
·  Optimize production plans to meet site, division and corporate inventory and service goals by using supply chain planning processes.
·  Identify capacity and material constraints and develop corrective action plans.
·  Manage Dead, Excess, and Slow moving inventory, driving to identify and eliminate root causes.
·  Facilitate and lead continuous improvement efforts, using appropriate Lean and Six Sigma tools and participating in Value Stream improvement activities.
·  Drive lean implementation by being a core member the value stream team, work with the team to create Value Stream Maps, Changeover Wheels, Standardized Work, Supermarkets, Plan For Every Part, and sustaining improvements.

Basic Qualifications:  

·  Possess or in the last semester of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or related discipline from an accredited University.
·  Minimum of two (2) years of supply chain and/or logistics experience.
·  Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
·  Current APICS certification or willingness to obtain.
·  Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
·  Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
·  Experience with 3M Planning and Execution systems - PMCS, OPRA, COMS, GGSM, PeopleSoft, USS, etc. (applies to internal applicants only)
·  Strong interpersonal and time management skills with a proven track record as a team player.
·  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
·  Green Belt certified with experience leading six-sigma projects.
·  Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing and experience utilizing Lean tools.
·  SAP experience.
