Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for 3M Medical Solutions business in the Hospital market segment. Provide direct supervision to Operating Room, Central Sterilization, and Infection Control field based Sales representatives, through leadership, coaching, training and development, and allocating work assignments to deliver forecast. Review progress in achieving sales and business objectives for all assigned teams. Manage employee performance appraisals, diversity, disability, all relevant employee data, etc. Develop appropriate management relationships with distribution, OEM and Group Purchasing Organization or facility management within region.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Plans, organizes, and directs all sales activities and policies for hospital sales representatives
· Coordinates with Clinical Specialist Teams to provide support for Sales efforts within their Regions
· Achieves region growth target
· Nurtures / grows high-performing sales teams
· Uses territory analysis and available business tools to create a business plan for growth
· Navigates complex organization to ensure sales, marketing, and Medical Key Accounts collaborate to drive programs and growth in hospital segment within region
· Promotes teamwork between Medical Key Accounts and own sales team to develop account strategies and penetration
· Understand the US healthcare industry trends and competitive environment
· Builds strong customer relationships and negotiates with customers where appropriate
· Shares best practice with other marketing and sales managers
· Builds a team of high-performing sales representatives
· Partners with HR to Recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates
· Coaches sales representatives (business, product, sales process, leadership attributes) in one-on-one and group settings
· Works with sales representatives in the field 3-4 days per week
Basic Qualifications:
· Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
· Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in Sales, National Accounts, Key Accounts, Business Management and/or Sales Management in a private, public, government, or military environment
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master's degree is preferred
· Two (2) years of experience in people management
· Know and understands medical terminology, processes and procedures
· Strong clinical selling and concept selling skills; able to understand technical and clinical information and communicate it to clinicians including surgeons, anesthesiologists, Perioperative staff, Infection Preventionists, Nurse Educators, nursing staff, and other appropriate personnel
· Understands national contracts and distribution management and OEM channel.
· Strong computer skills, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint; uses technology, i.e., smartphones, iPads
· Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to lead and coach others
· Ability to travel up to 60% overnight within the region
