Job Summary:

The Quality Auditor is responsible for ensuring that manufactured product meets all applicable drawing requirements and specifications. This individual will be responsible for visual conformance as well as measurement and responsible for ensuring that required documentation also accompanies the product.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career

 Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Uses instruments and gages properly, insures proper care, maintenance and accuracy. Hand tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, linear scales), Gages (e.g., pins, thread, custom gages), Optical tools (e.g., comparators, profiles, microscopes). Electronic measuring equipment. (Visions System)
·  Ensures conformance of manufactured product by utilizing blueprint reading, instruction sheets, and written procedures and test procedures
·  Audits the process of manufacturing the product; examples included such as training logs, accuracy of operations sheets, work instructions, sub-components contained within the manufactured product, and verifying age sensitive materials and etc. 
·  Identifies non-conformances; issue correction action requests (CAR’s); follow up to ensure proper closure
·  Assist the QA Supervisor in maintaining inspection records and file system, as defined by the quality manual and related procedures
·  Maintains a neat, clean and FOD free workplace
·  Verifies correctness of documentation and routes material to the next operation or rejection material and prepares a rejection report
·  Performs in-process inspection as directed
·  Uses instruments and gages properly, insures proper care, maintenance and accuracy
·  Assists the QA Supervisor in gage control, ensuring that all inspection equipment is calibrated and in a working condition in a manufacturing setting
·  Attends training and other related events as directed by QA Supervisor
·  Performs additional duties and functions as directed by the QA Supervisor

This position will require:

·  Working overtime
·  Weekend workas needed
·  Demonstrable capability with in-depth ability to read and interpret blue prints, use of measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, mathematical ability with decimals to the thousands place and able to prepare accurate and comprehensive audit reports

This position may require:

·  Working on holidays as needed
·  Short notice shift coverage

Basic Qualifications:  

·  Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
·  prior experience with a Quality department of a manufacturing organization is necessary in a similar type role as Inspector or Auditor
