Job Summary :

The person hired for this position will primarily be responsible for reformulating existing products for various reasons, resolving customer complaints through testing and analysis, driving continuous quality improvement, customer alignment, and scale up of high quality, robust new products.  The engineer will support the Auto Care business which provides cutting edge automotive solutions for car enthusiasts, restorers, and do-it-yourselfers.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Driving manufacturing cost and product yield improvement projects.
·  Leading local and global Management of Change projects focused on communication, risk evaluation and execution of process and product changes.
·  Supporting local and global manufacturing teams on rapid resolution of customer complaints; including timely response, communication and implementation of corrective actions.
·  Supporting successful NPI scale up and launch of new AAD products.
·  Leading and supporting quality improvement projects in manufacturing.
·  Using Lean Six Sigma and value stream tools to drive improvements.
·  Providing manufacturing leadership and support for the local and global manufacturing of the division's products.
·  Leading manufacturing technology advancements.
·  Performing capability assessments and cost estimates for new opportunities.
·  Driving process development, recommend new equipment and modification to support cost     improvements and new product introductions.
·  Maintaining awareness of customer needs and industry trends and translate those into measurable specifications and test methods for product development and manufacturing.
·  Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
·  Minimum of two (2) years’ combined product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Technical experience in formulating products on the bench
·  Minimum of three (3) years of experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving is preferred
·  Minimum of three (3) years of experience on working with a manufacturing environment is preferred
·  Minimum of three (3) years on New Product Development and Commercialization Teams is preferred
·  Minimum of three (3) years on Quality Improvement and Cost Reduction projects is preferred
·  Experience with unit cost modeling
·  Experience leading or participating on cross functional teams
·  Strong communication skills, proven ability to develop and maintain productive networks within the 3M technical community with demonstrated ability to influence
·  Hands on car enthusiast
