Job Summary:

The position of Maintenance Mechanic located in Menomonie, WI will be responsible for performingroutine and non-routine Plant Engineering work as assigned.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical equipment, systems or processes on slitters, extruders, web systems, conveyors, winders, compressors, pumps, etc.
·  Machining and fabrication of parts.  Support area like welding, brazing, rigging and tramming of equipment, and general building repair.
·  Continue to upgrade skills and experience on new or advanced equipment and process technologies as relates to supporting routine and non-routine work assignments.
·  Use of the Internet to find vendor / manufacturing information needed to service and repair equipment.
·  Document maintenance and related functions using the CMMS computerized Shop Work Order System, electronic and manual log books, and Lotus Notes.
·  Work with engineers, technicians or craft people during troubleshooting, repair or modify equipment, systems or processes.
·  Contribute technical recommendations regarding the improvement or optimization of facility equipment and/or process equipment as needed.

This position will require working:

·  Weekend work
·  Holidays as needed
·  Short notice shift coverage
·  Any shift available, including, but not limited to, first, second, third or rotating

This position may require working:

·  Overtime

Basic Qualifications:

·  Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
·  Currently possess or in the last seven (7) months of obtaining a two (2) year technical degree in an industrial maintenance mechanic field OR a minimum of two (2) years industrial maintenance experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Experience with diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair and maintaining mechanical equipment, systems or processes on slitters, extruders, web systems, conveyors, winders, compressors, pumps, etc.
·  Ability to use the Internet to find vendor / manufacturing information needed to service and repair equipment.
·  Ability to communicate, both written and oral, technical information to a diverse audience.
·  Possess good documentation skills
·  Strong team, communication, and problem solving skills, with attention to detail.
·  Strong computer skills in Maintenance Management Systems, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Office.
